2009-2010 Projects

The second annual "Put Trash in its Place" contest was a huge success! There were 35 beautifully decorated trash cans, which made judging difficult. Thanks to the Keep Jackson Beautiful Committee for being our distinctive art critics!

There were four winners, two for the high school division and two for the middle school division, and one honorable mention.

Madison Academic High School, Jackson Central-Merry High School, West Middle School and Rose Hill Middle School students and teachers were honored at the February 16th County Commission meeting for their hard work.

Gift cards were given to the art teachers to help supply materials for future projects. Thanks again to all the schools that participated.

The classes below are the winners in our first annual Anti-Litter Poster Contest. These classes worked together to come up with a slogan, design and create the image that was to be entered.

Only fifteen winners were selected out of 75 entries, and the winning posters have been digitized and made into metal signs. These signs will be posted along county roads to inform drivers that Madison County kids want their community to be beautiful and litter-free.
